Cutout (tool-shaped bin)

Make a bin with a pocket shaped like the traced tool, or like the shape in an SVG / AI file.

Cutout storage generator screen
  1. Pressing "Make a bin with this shape" in Trace loads that shape. You can also drag & drop an SVG or an Illustrator .ai (saved PDF-compatible) onto the center box. A size check appears; enter the real width if it differs.
  2. If you drop a photo or image, you are told it needs tracing. "Go to the trace page" carries the image over.
  3. With "Fit grid to the tool" on, the smallest number of cells that fits is chosen automatically. Set the height (mm) too.
  4. Cutout: choose pocket depth, clearance (S 0.5 / M 1.0 / L 1.5 mm), top round (rim) and bottom round (floor).
  5. Stacking lip and outer corners work like the bin. Use "Export" at the bottom right for the STL.

Cutout bins are solid. Print them with low infill (5–15%) in your slicer for a lighter, faster print.
