What is Gridfinity?
Gridfinity is a storage system for drawers and desks that you make with a 3D printer. Boxes (bins) of the same standard snap onto a base (baseplate) with a fixed grid. Because every box shares the same sizes, you can swap and rearrange them freely.
Standard is 42 mm — KODAWARI uses half: 21 mm
A standard Gridfinity cell is 42 mm. KODAWARI uses half of that, 21 mm (0.5 of a standard cell), as one cell. Smaller cells mean you can match your drawer or tool in fine 21 mm steps.

Look at the little feet underneath
The bottom of a bin has a foot every 21 mm. The feet drop into the pockets of the baseplate and hold the bin in place. Both are 84 mm square: the standard 2 × 2 has four large feet, the KODAWARI 21 mm 4 × 4 has sixteen. Four KODAWARI feet (2 × 2) fit in the space of one standard foot.
Example: a 21 mm 3 × 3 bin on a 42 mm 2 × 2 baseplate
On the standard grid, a tool 63 mm wide needs a 2 × 2 bin (84 mm square), leaving 21 mm unused. With 21 mm cells a 3 × 3 bin (63 mm square) fits exactly in the space of 1.5 standard cells, and you can fill the rest with 21 mm wide bins.
KODAWARI baseplates pair cells into 42 mm pockets, so standard Gridfinity (42 mm) bins fit too.

Gridfinity is a storage standard with 42 mm cells, created by Zack Freedman, an American maker and YouTuber. He announced and released it in a YouTube video in April 2022.
This site uses the half size, 21 mm, as one cell, which suits more compact storage such as small parts and the inside of drawers.
